A little help
with Clipper.
Help with the native iPhone app and the clips you keep on your device.
Camera or microphone access is off
Use Open Settings in Clipper, or open iPhone Settings → Apps → Clipper, and enable Camera and Microphone. Return to Clipper and follow any recovery message. Both permissions are needed to capture a video with sound.
Saved clips remain accessible when capture is unavailable. Check the status before a take; wait for recent history to build before clipping. An unavailable camera or disconnected input can require another source in Clipper Settings.
A take is shorter than expected
Clipper saves the recent history that is actually available. Opening the app, changing capture sources, or resuming after an interruption starts a fresh buffer. Keep Clipper open during the take and until saving completes.
Leaving Clipper or locking the iPhone stops capture and clears unsaved history. Low storage, heat, or an audio interruption can pause capture. Follow the status message, free space or let the phone cool where needed, then resume. Save useful available history before starting a new buffer.
Hands-free commands are unavailable
In Clipper Settings, enable Hands-free clips and allow Speech Recognition. Speak an English duration command such as “clip thirty seconds” or “clip two minutes” into the selected recording microphone. The available range is one second to five minutes.
The app needs on-device English speech recognition. If it is unavailable or permission is denied, use the manual clip button. Follow any Settings or retry message. Voice pauses during clip review and spoken feedback. A command can be included in the saved video's audio.
Find, trim, or remove a saved clip
Open Clips to see saved movies. Use a clip's actions to open Edit & Trim, set Start and End, and choose Save as New Clip. The original remains in your saved clips.
If a movie cannot be opened, other saved clips remain available. Use that clip's actions to delete the unreadable file after confirming its name. Deleting a saved clip is permanent within Clipper; export an important working copy first. Removing the app can remove its saved clips.
Save to Photos or another app
Choose Save to Photos from a clip's actions, allow permission to add photos and videos, and wait for the result. If Photos access is off, enable it in iPhone Settings → Apps → Clipper. A failed Photos save leaves the original in Clipper so you can try again.
Share or Save to Files opens the system share sheet. Copies you send to Photos, Files, or another app are separate: deleting one in Clipper does not remove an exported copy. Manage copies and any cloud sync in their destination.
Account and privacy questions
Capture and saved clips do not require an account. If your build offers a Yuzu account connection, signing out disconnects this app's session; it does not delete a shared Yuzu account. Account availability and instructions depend on the build you received. For pre-release account or privacy requests, use the contact route above.
Read Privacy for Clipper iPhone for local media, voice, permission, and account data details.
What helps with a bug report
Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Clipper version and build, the steps you took, and the exact error message. If relevant, name the camera or microphone connection and say whether the issue happened before or after reviewing a clip or leaving the app.
Do not send passwords, account codes, or private recordings. A short description or a screenshot with private details hidden is usually enough to start.
