Privacy for Clipper iPhone
Your recent footage and saved clips stay in the app until you choose to export a copy.
Scope
This policy covers the native Clipper iPhone app from Yuzu Patch. Clipper Web, Clipper for Mac, Visualizer, and other Yuzu Patch products have separate data flows; this policy does not change their policies.
Clipper lets you save recent camera-and-microphone footage on your iPhone. You do not need an account to capture, review, trim, delete, or export a clip. The app does not upload your rolling footage or saved clips to Yuzu Patch.
Camera, microphone, and temporary history
After you allow camera and microphone access, Clipper starts capturing while its capture screen is active. It uses the selected camera and microphone to show a preview and keep temporary video-and-audio chunks on the device. These chunks provide the recent history from which you choose a clip.
Temporary history is bounded and older chunks are removed as capture continues. Clipper clears unsaved rolling history when it leaves the foreground and cleans up abandoned temporary history on the next launch. Switching capture sources starts a fresh history. An interruption can leave less history available than the duration you requested.
Recording stops outside the foreground. You can stop using capture by leaving the app or revoking camera or microphone access in iPhone Settings. Previously saved clips remain available.
Saved clips, trimming, and copies
When you choose to clip, Clipper saves a movie in its private app storage. Saved clips persist across app launches until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Trimming creates another saved clip and preserves the original. Clipper reads local movie metadata to list duration, creation time, and playback information.
Save to Photos requests permission to add a copy to your Photos library. It does not give Clipper access to browse your existing Photos library. Sharing or saving to Files sends only the clip you choose to the destination you select in the system share sheet.
Deleting a clip in Clipper removes that local copy. It does not delete copies already in Photos, Files, another app, or with another person. Those destinations may sync or back up copies according to your settings and their policies. Your iPhone or computer backup settings may also affect copies of app data; Clipper does not provide a cloud clip library or recovery service.
Optional hands-free commands
Hands-free clips are off by default. If you enable them and allow Speech Recognition, Clipper uses Apple's on-device English speech recognition to listen for clip-duration commands through the capture microphone. On-device recognition must be available; Clipper does not fall back to server speech recognition.
Recognition audio and interim recognition results are processed on the iPhone. Clipper does not upload this audio or store a transcript history. Recognition pauses when capture is inactive, during clip review, and during spoken confirmations. You can turn Hands-free clips off in Clipper Settings or revoke Speech Recognition access in iPhone Settings.
A command may be audible in the movie you save because it is spoken into the recording microphone. Disabling voice commands does not mute the microphone in your video recording.
Preferences and diagnostics
Clipper stores preferences such as the selected capture sources and whether hands-free commands are enabled on the device. Internal test builds can also keep small, bounded local diagnostic records of audio-route types, recognition events, timing, buffer counts, and error codes. These records contain no microphone recording or transcript. The release app does not write these internal diagnostic snapshots.
The iPhone app has no advertising or product-analytics client and does not transmit local diagnostic records to Yuzu Patch. If you choose to send a support message or diagnostic attachment, we receive the information you deliberately include. Do not include a recording or other private information unless it is needed for your request.
Optional account connection, if offered in your build
Some builds offer an optional Yuzu account connection. If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Supabase process authentication information, including the profile information you authorize, such as name, email, profile image, and account identifiers. Supabase maintains the shared Yuzu account and Clipper stores a local session so you can remain signed in. Authentication and security requests may include ordinary technical information such as an IP address and request time.
Connecting an account does not upload your clips or add cloud sync. Signing out ends Clipper's local account session; it does not delete a shared Yuzu account or sign you out of every other Yuzu product. Account information remains while the account exists, subject to the applicable account policy and provider security or legal retention. Use the account and privacy-request instructions on Clipper iPhone Support for help with account information. Signing in is not marketing consent.
Providers, websites, and your choices
Apple provides the device permission, Speech Recognition, Photos, and sharing frameworks used by the app. Google and Supabase are involved only in an offered account connection and its session. Opening our online privacy or support pages makes a web request to our website host, Vercel, which may process ordinary delivery and security information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time.
You control camera, microphone, Speech Recognition, and Photos permissions in iPhone Settings. Turning off an optional permission does not require you to delete saved clips. Delete individual clips within Clipper; manage exported copies in the destination where you saved them. For questions about information you submitted to Yuzu Patch, or access, correction, or deletion requests, use Clipper iPhone Support.
We do not sell your personal information or use your camera, microphone, or clip contents for advertising. Information you send to us or an account provider may be processed in countries other than your own. No device or service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
Yuzu Patch may update this policy when Clipper's features or data practices change. The date above identifies this version. Contact information and help for the iPhone app are on Clipper iPhone Support.
