This policy explains what Yuzu Patch web services, including MIDI Visualizer and Clipper, collect, why we use it, and what stays on your device.
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Yuzu Patch website, MIDI Visualizer and Clipper web applications, and related services that link to this policy (together, the “Service”). “Yuzu Patch,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the people operating the Service.
Information we collect
Account information for MIDI Visualizer
When you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information you authorize Google to share, such as your name, email address, profile image, and a provider-specific account identifier.
Feedback you submit
If you send feedback, we may store your account identifier, the feedback category and message, the related MIDI Visualizer scene, and the page from which it was sent.
Information stored on your device
MIDI Visualizer uses browser storage for settings and creative data such as selected scenes, volume and input preferences, locally imported music files, custom songs, and progress. Clearing your browser data may remove this information.
Service and security information
Our hosting, authentication, and infrastructure providers may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, request timestamps, and error or security events to deliver and protect the Service.
Your music, MIDI, audio, and video data
Live MIDI messages, computer-key input, notes, chords, velocity, sustain, and other performance gestures are processed locally in your browser to generate sound and visuals. Yuzu Patch does not transmit or store your live performance data on its servers.
MusicXML or MIDI files you import into the current version of MIDI Visualizer remain in your browser’s local storage unless you separately choose to share information with us.
In Clipper Web, microphone, camera, and optional MIDI input are processed locally in your browser. The rolling buffer, clips saved during the session, trim results, and MIDI sidecars are held in the current tab and are not transmitted to or stored on Yuzu Patch servers. Downloaded copies are stored according to your browser and device settings.
How we use information
- Provide authentication and maintain your account session.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- Understand and respond to feedback you voluntarily submit.
- Prevent abuse and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use your live MIDI, audio, or video input for advertising.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the Service, including Google for MIDI Visualizer sign-in and web fonts used by the Service, Supabase for MIDI Visualizer authentication and application data, and Vercel for website hosting and delivery. These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the Service or its users, or as part of a business reorganization where legally permitted.
Retention
We retain account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for security, legal compliance, or service operations. Feedback may be retained as long as it remains useful for product development. Information stored only in your browser remains under your control.
Clipper’s rolling buffer is cleared when capture stops. Its saved session clips exist only for the current page session unless you download them; downloaded copies remain under your control.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time, revoke Yuzu Patch’s access from your Google Account, and clear locally stored settings through your browser. In Clipper, you can stop capture, delete session clips, and manage camera, microphone, and MIDI permissions in your browser or device settings. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information, use the “Share feedback” form in MIDI Visualizer and begin your message with “Privacy request.”
Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International use
Yuzu Patch and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will change the effective date above and provide additional notice when legally required. For privacy questions, use the “Share feedback” form inside MIDI Visualizer and begin your message with “Privacy request.”
