Yuzu Patch is a free online instrument library and MIDI visualizer that responds while you play. Choose from more than 150 sounds, then let notes, chords, velocity, and sustain shape the visuals in real time.
How Yuzu Patch works
Connect a MIDI keyboard, use your computer keyboard, or play the on-screen piano. Then choose a visual world. Each world interprets the same performance differently: falling piano-roll notes, constellations, illuminated buildings, fluid ink, waveforms, particles, or stage lighting.
Inputs and browser compatibility
- MIDI keyboard: Hardware Web MIDI works in desktop Chrome and Edge. Connect by USB or pair a compatible Bluetooth MIDI controller.
- Computer keyboard: QWERTY controls let you play notes and chords without MIDI hardware.
- Touch: The on-screen piano works on phones, tablets, and computers with touch input.
- Audio: Waveform and Light Cathedral can react to a local song file or live audio shared with the browser.

Visuals that explain the music
Yuzu Patch can show live chord names, an on-screen keyboard, falling notes, and readable staff notation alongside the artistic scene. That makes a performance easier to follow for students, viewers, and anyone curious about what the player is doing.
Visual intensity also follows the performance. Pitch determines where events appear, velocity changes their force, harmony shapes larger patterns, and sustain lets effects carry through a phrase.
Recording and sharing
The beta recording tools are designed to keep the whole take together: camera, audio, reactive visuals, chord names, and music notation. Record once, then download the performance or create a share link instead of rebuilding the visual layer in an editor.
You can also use a visual world on a large display for practice, teaching, a live audience, or a stream.

No. The searchable instrument shelf includes more than 150 pianos, synths, organs, guitars, basses, strings, brass, winds, percussion, world instruments, voices, and effects. Audio-reactive maps can also respond to local or shared audio.
